proud with medal
Kuala Lumpur Standard Chartered Maratahon 2019 (KLSCM 19)
A day to remember
We’ve checked in 2 nights at kuala lumpur as me and my daughter registered for this running event. Haze about a month in kuala lumpur, and luckily it drop dramatic to 50-100 api on the event day. It makes the organiser proceed with the plan. thanks to the raining season. All because of Al-mighty Allah (SWT). Due to haze, my training was drop in mileage. We arrived quite late on Friday as our work and Arissa school finished in the evening. Booked a place name Robertson residence thru airbnb.it was very near to the town and dataran merdeka as the event would be held. The next morning we have to rush to dataran merdeka at 7am, for Arissa running event. she entered 1km kids dash running for the first time. She finished and clocked at 8 minute 24second which is 78 out of 171 on her category. That was good for her first time running event. Im proud of her achievement. While she recovered, im taking a short run with a friend(Hadafi) during friendship run(scklm event) held.just to loosen muscle for tomorrow marathon’s.
We had a good carbo loading after the event which is rice and seafood from manhattan fish market. For dinner im taking pasta and juice drinks. This is good for stomach during run. Do not take any spicy food, unless you would like to have a frequent bathroom trips. As advised from my friend, i studied the race route.every water station and every hill using the event map. At first im planning for 3hr28.it was first 20km at pace 5, km21 until km30 at pace 4.30 and the remaining last km at pace 5 again.in between rest at pace 6.but the hill was too tough for me,i overdo it and cramp at km40. All this plan i wrote on a diy pace band using paper and wrap on clear selefon tape. All planned well but, lack of sleep. Running event started at 345am. need to check in bag at least 1hr due to queuing and about 30minutes before to get in pen(place where are designated start areas designed to facilitate a more efficient and convenient race start, and more optimal race day experience for all Participants. Which means i have to be there around 2am. And i have to wake up at 1am. That not to mention that i have marathon insomnia the night before. I end up at 3hr39m. it was PB for me and place at 63rd overall. What a day!
